Vince Staples

Formerly in Odd Future, Vince Staples, is an American-Rapper who brings in alternative EDM beats to make a sound that is profoundly unique. According to an interview on The Fader, “Since Staples’s debut mixtape in 2011, he has used his songs to indict police brutality, civic apathy, gentrification, racial profiling, and the failed educational system.” Although Vince tackles heavy topics, his music sounds upbeat and is most certainly danceable. Vinces most recent release and Sophomore album, Big Fish Theory, hosts an interesting mix of EDM dance music from prominent producers and DJs along side his introspective lyrics about stardom and the toxicity that comes along with it.
